Welcome
Welcome to my blog page: Vita--the life we lead. This is nothing too fancy, just a log of what is occurring in the life of Joseph. Sometimes there will be fun, interactive posts, and other times it will be a boring post about what I'm thinking about. In either case, enjoy. Laugh with me, write me comments, and have a blasty blast. (Also, view my "About Me" at the bottom of the page.)

Computerless
Well, for those who are reading this, you probably know by now that I have been "computerless" at work the past 2+ weeks. So if you're trying to send me emails to my work account, I have not been getting them.
Let me back up; I'm not exactly "computerless" per se. Here's what happened. On June 4th, it was 92 degrees at Keyport. It just so happened that the A/C in our building broke that day. Great. So it was like 100 degrees inside. Half the people went home early. The other half who stayed, like me, couldn't possibly do any work. So around 3:30 (an hour before I get to leave for home), I decided to take a little break. I was daydreaming about riding my motorcycle in that great weather, but I did not have the summer motorcycle pants that I needed. So I went to Google and typed in "motorcycle riding pants." I clicked on one of the first links. When I got to the site, I didn't click on anything but rather scrolled up and down to see some images. Within 10 seconds, a anti-virus warning window comes up saying that the site is a potential phishing threat. So immediately I closed down my window. A few moments later, I opened the browser again. However, I couldn't get any internet access. I lost all connectivity. I replugged all the cables to no avail.
Finally I called the IT helpdesk. After some time on the phone with them, they said they'd call me back. Within a few minutes, they called back saying, "Sir, the reason you have no internet is because there has been an IA (information awareness) event at your workstation." That scared me big time. IA is basically a security violation. So I thought I was in big trouble. But after calming down and thinking about it, I did nothing wrong. In the end, they said they would have to run an investigation (i.e. see what sites I have been visiting and what not) and then someone would have to come to my desk and run a virus scan on my harddrive.
Long story short, they have yet to come to my desk. Apparently I'm on a waiting list, and I'm 10th in line. So 2 weeks have gone by, and I have not been able to use the internet. LAME!! 90% of my job relies on the internet, so as you can imagine, I've 1) been bored senseless at work, and 2) have not had time to blog because of it. :)
So in the meantime, please send emails to only hmani5@msn.com. Gracias!
